As a keynote speaker Dr. Benton challenges the mindset and perspective of individuals who are emerging as healthy, empowered people. Her workshops help create safe environments to discuss and implement change within educational and community systems.
Dr. Benton’s passion and her ability to relate allows her to evoke emotion from audiences that create spaces for growth and meaningful interaction. As an educator, writer, and social change agent, she has been instrumental in developing key programs for school systems and agencies that deal with equitable education, trauma informed teaching, curriculum development, implicit bias, and healthy relationships.
I develop a multicultural curriculum tailored to your diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) goals. Our lessons encourage critical thinking, critique and explore systems of power, and support culturally relevant and responsive pedagogy.
Through professional development trainings, I intend to help administrators, teachers, and support staff improve their professional knowledge, competence, skill, and effectiveness.
